Garden Extention Of Home In 2007
The new year has just begun and even though most of us are still in the middle of winter many garden owners are already planning ahead. Preparing for a newly designed garden or planning to change or upgrade your existing garden takes time, effort and some knowledge.
Every year knows its own predictions for trends in fashion, foods as well as garden design. As trends go, some will actually take hold and seep through into our own garden designs and some will simply stay where they are, on the pages of garden design magazines.
So what are the trends for 2007? Garden enthusiasts will see a focus on mainly easy to maintain plants. Low-maintenance is the word for this summer so fats growing and colorful plants that hardly need any care at all will find a spot in our gardens. Think of greens and bamboos that grow quickly as well as easy to grow varieties of roses.
Environmentally friendly materials are used in the designs of garden furniture and details such as chairs, tables as well as fences. The Garden Media Group of Philadelphia garden trend report also predicts that we will see our concern and care for the environment reflected in our gardens.
Going easy on chemicals and using only natural pest control products, wildlife and the environment are (and should be) protected. The herb and culinary garden returns but in a smaller form. Don't expect full vegetable gardens but boxes and tubs of lettuce leaves and baby vegetable varieties.
As more consumers and garden design amateurs are showing an interest in designing their own gardens instead of hiring a professional designer garden products there is a need for fast growing and maintenance-free range of plants. By choosing species that are local to the garden owners' area they can be sure to enjoy fast growing and hardy plants.
