Landscaping: New Insipirations from Far East

A successful landscaping project often depends on the right kind of inspiration. Looking for an idea or thinking of the right theme for a garden is often not as easy as it seems and standards of surrounding gardens may be high enough to scare off any amateur landscaper. Inspiration can be found in magazines and books and in show gardens such as the Huntington today Botanical Gardens located 12 miles east of Los Angeles.

A new garden has been opened on the grounds of the Huntington Gardens. A Chinese garden in which not only botanical skills and knowledge are displayed but also architecture and landscaping talent are combined to create a wonderful piece of modern yet classic Chinese landscaping design.

This garden offers a great source of inspiration for those who want to explore the possibilities of Chinese gardening and landscaping techniques. Symmetry and order are combined with the principles of calming and soothing energies of plants combines with water features. The garden is only open in 'preview' mode for now but will open completely in 2008. The garden is already looking great now but is still a work in progress but a must see for garden lovers.

Oriental planting techniques have become moiré popular over the years especially since the public has become more interested in Zen gardens and the principles of Eastern cultures in general.
