Artificial Landscaping Turf

Artificial landscaping turf also known, as Artificial Lawn is a synthetic, man-made surface used in residential, commercial or public landscaping to resemble natural grass or sod

These Artificial Lawns are the net generation products. Previously their use was mainly restricted to the sports arena and similar purposes. Now there is a booming market even in the residential sector as more and more consumers are looking to have an artificial lawn done right in front of their home for private use. What was previously a product exclusively for the athletic fields and various sports surfaces has become a popular commodity used by private and public consumer alike.

This concept of Artificial Lawn was originally developed in the 1960's. Now it is used for residential and commercial landscaping and not for athletic purposes alone. This modern trend is due to two reasons: the quality and variety of artificial grasses that are available has improved dramatically, and the value of artificial grass as a conservation measure is being realized by cities and water conservation organizations

In landscaping, you cannot tell the difference between an artificial lawn and a lawn of sod grass. But an artificial, or synthetic, lawn has all the advantages as it requires no watering, no pesticides and no maintenance. Most high-quality artificial lawns come with a seven-year warranty and you get at least three varieties to choose from

Polyethylene or a combination of polyethylene and nylon is used to make these lawns. It is sewn into a rubberized plastic mat or similar backing. A low layer of sand, rubber granules or a combination of of both is then infilled to keep the fibers upright and provides the proper shock absorbency
